Forget the Cougar Trend: Rich Women Want Clooney Types

Boy toys? P-shaw! What financially secure women really want is an older, attractive man to warm their beds at night, a new study has found. The best person to illustrate that ideal partner? George Clooney. We really shouldn’t be surprised that Clooney’s hotness can be scientifically proven, but here’s the cool thing about the research:

The study — which, by the way, surveyed no fewer than 1,851 women (!) — found that women who were financially independent actually named an older man as their ideal partner, rather than a young pool-boy type, despite what pop culture has led us to believe. Here’s why researchers think that’s the case:

“We think this suggests greater financial independence gives women more confidence in partner choices, and attracts them to powerful, attractive older men,” [says lead researcher Fhionna Moore].

Part of what the researchers were interested in was whether women would go for younger twenty-somethings the older and more successful they got, as men tend to. Turns out, ladies still want eye candy, just not the inexperience. And what, I challenge you, is prettier to look at than George?
