Kudos, Zuckerberg. In a move that gay and lesbian advocacy groups including GLAAD have applauded, Facebook has added “in a civil union” and “in a domestic partnership” to its relationship options. Says Facebook:
“This has been a highly requested feature from users,” said Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes. “We want to provide options for people to genuinely and authentically reflect their relationships on Facebook.”
Hey, Sexcerpts (sort of) asked, and Facebook answered! Congratulations to all of our same-sex couple friends who can now proudly claim their romantic relationships more easily and clearly. Everyone should be afforded that right, even if it’s just via a social media website.
