Sex Triggers 2.2 Percent of Heart Attacks

See, it’s not just a Mad Men plot point! Sex really can trigger heart attacks. In fact, getting it on is responsible for 2.2 of heart attacks, says a new study in The Lancet. That’s less than eating a heavy meal (2.7 percent) and more than smoking pot (less than 1 percent). The top trigger of heart attacks? Get ready to be depressed:

Inhaling smog while stuck in traffic.

And here I thought keeling over in your cubicle was the worst way to die.

Out of all of the triggers the study mentions — including drinking coffee, snorting cocaine, and sipping booze — sex seems like the best way to go if given a choice. That’s our pick, anyway.
