We ladies know there’s always at least one bra in our lingerie drawer that’s totally cute but doesn’t quite fit right. Now’s your chance to use it for a great cause:
Athena’s Home Novelties, a company that sells and distributes bedroom sex toys — including the “Amazing Hot Heart Massager” (we’ll take two) — at in-home parties, is organizing a drive to collect bras, along with $5 donations, to fund breast cancer research. Recipients of the donations include Susan G. Komen for the Cure and other smaller regional breast cancer charities, including the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation in Rhode Island.
The company’s philanthropic arm, Athena’s Cup, is looking to link all of the bras and beat the Guinness Book of World Records bra-linkage record (yes, that exists) of 169,000 bras. They’ll be hooked together in October of this year at Athena’s HQ in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Founder Jennifer Jolicoeur asks that you write the name of a relative who’s been afflicted by breast cancer on the bra, if you so choose.
