U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner recently admitted to non-physical online and phone indiscretions with multiple women, some of which took place while he was married to his wife, Huma Abedin, senior adviser to Secretary of State Hilary Clinton. But are online affairs the same as real-life affairs?
On CNN today, Dr. Laura Berman called sexual communications (including e-mails, texts, and tweets) with anyone other than your spouse “cheating.” Watch the video below.
In this new information age, there hasn’t been much of a precedent set for what’s an affair and what’s not, but “cheating” might seem like a strong word for the behavior exhibited by men like Weiner.
