Life is short (and perhaps especially so for Hugh Hefner, 85), and it’s no use crying over spilled milk (or unsaid wedding vows). Hef was spotted cuddling during a movie with his new squeeze, sexy blond Anna Sophia Berglund, 25, Playboy‘s Miss January 2011.
PopEater’s Rob Shuter got this scoop from a friend of Hef’s:
“The entire Playboy brand has been built on his shoulders,” a friend and fellow adult magazine insider tells me. “The image of an old man sitting at home broken-hearted is bad for business. Hugh knows that what’s best for the brand is for him to start dating again no matter how much pain he is in.”
Meanwhile, Hef’s former bride-to-be Crystal Harris, 25, hosted a pool party in Vegas the day she was to be wed, and former Hefner number-one girlfriend Holly Madison, 32, was none too pleased: ”That’s a new low. That’s disgusting and whoever booked her is tacky,” she tweeted.
Early today, Hefner tweeted, “After all is said and done, staying single is probably the best. I think I just missed a bullet.”
We kind of feel bad for the guy. Breakups are never fun, even if you have a new centerfold on your arm. Maybe now’s the time for him to finally propose to Madison? We’ve always rooted for her.
