Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries‘s marital breakup may have received the most attention in celebrity gossip magazines and TV shows (or at least it just seemed like it), but in the Twitter world, the split of Katy Perry and Russell Brand generated the most commentary, inspiring a whopping 2,098,198 tweets.
For an ABC News special, data-cruncher Topsy and and news site The Daily Dot compiled the information from Twitter and put it in this handy infographic. Somewhat surprisingly, since Ashton Kutcher‘s Twitter handle was the first celeb account to surpass 1 million followers, he and Demi Moore‘s breakup got the fewest mentions.
