It’s so hard to choose the greatest sad-sack records that are perfect for wallowing in your sorrow after taking a trip to Dumpsville, Population: You, but Flavorwire has given it a go with its list of “The 10 Best Breakup Albums of All Time.” And author Tom Hawking has really good taste.

In past Sexcerpts posts, we’ve shared some of our favorite breakup songs (“I’m Not Crying” by Flight of the Conchords) and heart-wrenching movie breakups (Blue Valentine). As far as albums go, we’d have to nameĀ Boys for Pele by Tori Amos as an record that has has helped us through a number of less-than-happy times.
