Entrepreneurial SeekingArrangement.com CEO Brandon Wade is at it again: His newest website, MissTravel.com, connects “attractive” people with “generous” world travelers who are looking for an, ahem, “companion” to bring along on trips. Is the idea sheer genius…or just a variation on the sugar daddy/sugar baby theme?
The site’s motto: “Who needs money, beautiful people travel free!” Wade claims the site has some 15,000 users so far. “Attractive” travelers use MissTravel.com at no cost; “generous” travelers pay when they want to communicate with a potential companion. Proposing a trip relatively early is encouraged. However, there are a ton of ways this could go wrong, and MissTravel.com has done a brilliant CYA job with its “Travel Advice and Safety Tips” section, absolving them of any future wrongdoing. The first tip: “Never travel out of the country or to a different city to meet someone you do not know well.” Hmmm.
Scary possibilities aside, we sifted through a few of the gentlemen looking for a lady companion, and we must say that they didn’t look too bad, despite a few predictable oddities: One gentleman took great pains to communicate that he has “perfect, straight white teeth” and is looking for an (all-caps) “NO STRINGS ATTACHED” relationship. Okay, message received!
And few of the handles were also kind of amusing, our favorites being “Manimal” and “Bigmoolah.”
