In the market for a new pooch? A new survey by Klooff, a social iPhone app for pet owners, has identified the top dog breeds that make both men and women more appealing to the opposite sex. Single ladies, you might want to put adopting a golden retriever at the top of your to-do list.
First, what dogs are most likely to snag a man? Here are the top five breeds that made women seem more attractive to guys, according to the poll:
1. Golden Retrievers
2. Labrador Retrievers
3. Chihuahuas
4. Poodles
5. Beagles
But beware, Paris Hilton types: “The vast majority of men think that a woman who owns a chihuahua is more likely to be dumb.” Oof.
Even more good news for golden retriever fans looking for long-term love: ”Men are overwhelmingly more likely to see a woman who owns a golden retriever as girlfriend material than a woman who owns a chihuahua.”
How about the guys? Women overall found guys with manly-man-type dogs more appealing:
1. German Shepherds
2. Golden Retrievers
3. Labrador Retrievers
4. Siberian Huskies
5. French Bulldogs
And if there were ever a time to feel sorry for pit bulls, this is it: “Women are 10 times more likely to see a man who owns a pit bull as ‘slimy’ or ‘sketchy’ than a man who owns a siberian husky,” the poll found.
Poor pits! Tough-looking dogs — and tough-looking men! — need love too.
