Squeaky-clean Hannah Montana she is not: Former Disney star Miley Cyrus, 19, recently dished out her true feelings about sex on Lifetime’s The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet. Her take? “Sex is actually really beautiful.”
Here’s the quote in context:
“The girls that really base how much they’re worth on the sexual favors they can do for somebody, that makes me really sad,” she said. “Because sex is actually really beautiful. It’s the only way we create, and it’s the only way the world keeps going.
“So it’s ignorant not to talk to your kids about it or [not] make it seem magical or cool as it actually is. [Kids] have a TV, so they know what sex is. So educate them and let them know … it’s a beautiful thing, and it is magic, and it’s when you connect with somebody.”
We’re going to pretend we didn’t hear that, not because we don’t agree, but because this means that Miley is most likely getting down with our Hunger Games boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, 22, (or one of them, anyway — hello, Josh Hutcherson [Team Peeta!]) and we wanted Liam to save himself for us.
But anyway, yes, we are big fans of educating children about sex (although we’d suggest starting with the facts rather than the “magic”), and if Miley wants to speak about the importance of sex ed every day for the rest of her natural born life, we support that wholeheartedly.
