Gotta love modern times: Venerable dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster announced this week that “sexting” is among the new crop of words that will officially be added to the dictionary in 2012. So what is the exact definition?
“the sending of sexually explicit messages or images by cell phone”
That’s straightforward enough.
A few other saucy “new” words: “man cave” (“a room or space [as in a basement] designed according to the taste of the man of the house to be used as his personal area for hobbies and leisure activities”) and “f-bomb” (“the word f**k — used metaphorically as a euphemism”).
It’s nice to feel sanctioned.
