A Little Sexy, a Little Scary: Temporary Lip Tattoos

In the mood for a weekend look that reads one part dramatic, one part kinda insane? Violent Lips temporary lip tattoos are where it’s at. We tested out a pair of press-on lips to see if they were as hot as the packaging promised. Answer? Yep!

Violent Lips come in a slew of shades and patterns, from leopard print to polka dots to pink glitter to the flags of other countries (which might come in handy for getting the attention of boys at soccer bars). We tested out a classic red pair, emblazoned with the word “FEISTY.” (We like to think so!)

Here’s how the tattoos work: Take out one of the tattoo sheets (there are three to a package), and check out the back. Bust out a pair of scissors, ’cause you’ll have to cut along the dotted lines to make sure the tattoo matches up with your lip shape. Press the tattoo onto your lips, wet the back thoroughly (this is key), and let it sit for 40 seconds. Peel the tattoo off, wet your lips ever so slightly, and you’re done. The tattoo should last for up to eight hours. Perfect for a long, crazy night.

We thought the tattoos turned out surprisingly well, and although part of it didn’t stick as well as it should have, we think that was our fault for not wetting and pressing as thoroughly as instructed. Here’s what one looked like on us (we are not wearing any makeup other than the lip tattoos, just FYI):

Pretty cool, right? Fair warning: Our significant other was kind of freaked out when he saw us in the the tattoos, but if you want to role play or, say, be Nicki Minaj for Halloween, you can’t go wrong with these babies.

Three tattoos will run you from $8 to $15 at ViolentLips.com. We’ve also seen ‘em in Ricky’s drugstores in NYC. Go grab your fave!
