Just Launched: Search.xxx, the Google of Porn

Do you practice safe search? Search.XXX, a porn-only search engine, went live just yesterday, enabling users to find malware-free adult videos customized to their tastes — all without amassing an embarrassing Google search history.

The site finds porn only from sites with a “.xxx” domain, which are operated under the company ICM Registry. Digital Trends reports:

Users will also be able to set up their sexual orientation to customize their search results, and categories of video types will be located on the left side to filter what you’re looking for. Of course, the results will still only display other .xxx websites, which could leave out your preferred sites that are still under the .com domain…

“It’s only .xxx sites because those are the sites we know abide by the code of conduct and go through the McAfee scan,” Lawley says. “It’s a service that’s free of charge [for both users and .xxx domain owners] … It’s a giveback to our existing customers, and we hope to generate a substantial volume of traffic to .xxx owners, justifying their investment in the .xxx space.”

What’s on the horizon for the new site? Giving porn fans the option to subscribe to a subscription video service for about $2 a pop.

We searched for porn star “James Deen” on Search.xxx for, ahem, research purposes only, and we were pleased with what we found. Go forth and search, porn connoisseurs!

  1. Bernardine Stfleur says:

Google’s rise to success was in large part due to a patented algorithm called PageRank that helps rank web pages that match a given search string. When Google was a Stanford research project, it was nicknamed BackRub because the technology checks backlinks to determine a site’s importance.^^
