Girls writer/actress/director Lena Dunham has a book proposal and a book title — she just needs a book deal. Which we’re guessing is not going to be that hard to come by.
Slate reports that the book’s tentative title is Not That Kind of Girl: Advice by Lena Dunham. The book will include:
“candid accounts of losing her virginity, trying to eat well (detailed diet journal included), obsessing about death, and so on, along with tips about how to stay focused on work, how not to ruin a potential relationship, and what have you. One section will recount various ways in which older men continue to be condescending and sexist, and will describe ‘the most awkward date ever with an older director.’”
Oooh, which director? Do tell! Ridley Scott? Brian De Palma? Aaron Sorkin? Probably Aaron Sorkin, right? We’ll just have to buy the book.
What we love: She mentions legendary Cosmopolitan magazine editor Helen Gurley Brown‘s 1982 book Having It All as being an inspiration for the tome…”even though she thinks much of what Brown specifically advised is totally nuts,” Slate reports. Harrumph: Nobody puts Helen in a corner.
Bidding starts at $1 million.
It’s good to be Lena Dunham.
