In entertainment news that will surprise exactly no one, Bachelor Ben Flajnik and his model fiancée, show winner Courtney Robertson, have ended their engagement. But wait! There may be hope for the franchise’s track record yet! Bachelorette Ashley Hebert and her pick, JP Rosenbaum, will wed in December. On TV, natch.
Flajnik and Robertson issued a joint statement to explain the split:
“After meeting over a year ago, we have decided to end our romantic relationship,” the pair said. “The ups and downs weighed heavily on us both, and ultimately we started to grow apart because of the distance, time apart, and our need to focus on our respective careers.”
So on to happier news! If Ashley and JP marry, that’ll be a total of three weddings that resulted from the franchise’s 23 seasons. Here’s the dish on the upcoming TV special featuring the Hebert/Rosenbaum nuptials, according to Us Weekly:
“My dress will not be white!” hints Hebert, who recently relocated from New York City to New Jersey with construction manager Rosenbaum.
So there you have it. Take heart, hopeless romantics! Now you can stop mourning Ben and Courtney (Bourtney?) and fantasizing about what Ashley will wear. We vote for a frock like the ivory one below (minus the brooding facial expression):
