We recently mentioned Swedish sex toy company LELO in the context of its partnership with Brookstone to bring vibrators to the masses. (Right on!) But the company has also been busy studying what it is that women across the world desired (and actually did) in bed this year. Hint: The popularity of Fifty Shades of Grey might have something to do with it.
Here are a few raw numbers, according to the company’s global survey:
• 76 percent of women tell their partner exactly what they want in bed
• 47 percent have tried bondage during foreplay and intercourse
• 3 positions per session (up from 1 in 2011)
• 71 percent admit to sexting their partner
A full 19,000 women hailing from the U.S, Sweden, Germany, France, Britain, Japan, Brazil, and China responded to the study, which was posted on LELO.com.
It’s worth noting that the sample wasn’t exactly random — answers are from women who were visiting a sex toy site to begin with, so if you feel a little behind the curve compared with these statistics, don’t worry: Your average female might answer differently.
