At the beginning of 2012, we made a few suggestions for relationship resolutions to try and keep. If you made one, how did you do? If you didn’t, now’s a great time to commit to brushing up your relationship.
Talk with your partner about some goals you’d like to set for yourselves, like:
• Ten minutes of uninterrupted one-on-one conversation time per day. No smartphones or TV allowed.
• Add one sexual encounter per week to your current level of frequency, even if it’s way less than that now.
• One shared meal together per week, just you and your partner, whether it’s at home or at a restaurant. (If you’re at home, try busting out some candles for ambience.)
• Take turns each week reading a love poem, letter, or piece of literature of your choosing to each other. (Can be silly or sweet or both.)
Discuss what you’d like to achieve in meaningful steps, and hold each other accountable, just like you would do for yourself via a food journal or weight-loss app if you were on a diet.
But, trust us, being intimate with your partner on a regular basis is way more fun than eating salads 24/7.
Have fun, be creative, and have a happy new year!
