Oh, how we love this story. So picture this: You lose your phone in a cab (bummer) and, soon afterward, realize that someone has been trolling for women using your OKCupid online dating profile app. What do you do? If you’re New Yorker Nadav Nirenberg, you give the thief a taste of his own medicine…by posing as a seductive woman.
Nadav found a stock photo of an anonymous but well-endowed lady online and began messaging with the thief as “JennifferInBK” (and indicated in her profile she was interested in casual sex) in order to lure him to his apartment. Their conversation went a little something like this, CBSNewYork.com reports:
JennifferInBK: Yay! So I’ll be ready for you at 7, can’t wait
Thief: So what u going to make for me. Will u let me to kiss u?
JennifferInBK: Haha I didn’t know we’d be having dinner. I cook some amazing roasted chicken…
Thief: Will u give me a kiss:)
JennifferInBK: Well as I said I’ve been lonely and don’t have a bf
So lets have some wine and dinner and see where it takes us (I don’t see why not)
And now comes the part that’s so rich we couldn’t have made it up ourselves: The thief showed up at Nadav’s apartment wearing cologne and a nice shirt — and carrying a bottle of wine. Nadav confronted him in the stairwell and offered him $20 for the phone. He handed it over and fled.
Of course, Nadav couldn’t resist a parting shot:
As he was walking away I was surprised I said ‘You smell great tho(ugh).’”
Police, of course, advised him not to handle the situation the way he did. (Dangerous much?) But sure makes for an amazing story.
Also: Who uses someone else’s dating profile on a stolen phone to pick up women? Honestly!
