If you haven’t had your daily cry yet today, we recommend watching the short documentary film Theresa’s Wedding, created by Washington, DC, journalists Patrick Terpstra and Beth Brown. The two followed the story of Lisa and Theresa, a lesbian couple who met while working at a high-rise construction project, getting hitched in an area where same-sex marriage isn’t always accepted. Watch the film below:
Our favorite line from the piece: “I don’t even look at her as a woman or a man,” Theresa says. “I look at her as I love her.”
A happy update about the pair: “Despite initial unsettled feelings among her family and friends, they have since grown accustomed to the two of them together and celebrate her finding love,” Terpstra says. “Even if they weren’t quite ready for the youngest grandchildren to see their grandmother kiss another woman at the altar.”
Here’s to love.
